Feeling overwhelmed with social media

Are you feeling overwhelmed by Social Media?
Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, creating content, using hashtags, making reels… it is brutal! Social media takes time and energy out of our days, and if you’re not sure which platforms are the best for your business, then you’re probably trying all of them looking to find the best one for you.
This could mean that you are spending time and energy (and maybe even money!) on social media possibly seeing little to no results.
In 2022 you would be hard-pressed to find a business that does not use social media to promote itself, posting several times a week, possibly several times a day. And for small, newer businesses, being on top of the social media game 24/7 can get tiring.
Being on top of your account, talking to potential clients, making content, and living a life is exhausting (especially if it’s one person doing it all alone with no help!) to the point where social media then becomes too overwhelming.
Social media can be a great way to connect with potential clients, what with the 2 billion people on Facebook alone and the billion on Instagram, someone out there is going to be your client.
But sometimes, people feel overwhelmed because they don’t even know what they’re using social media for. What do you want out of your account? What content are you going to make? Who do you want to reach?
All of these questions and more make the process of having a social media account for your business a lot harder… But it doesn’t have to be like this.
Have a plan.
Knowing what you want to achieve with your account (awareness, sales, clicks, likes, etc.) will help you determine whether or not you are following the right path and making the right choices.
Think about the efforts you are putting towards your social media, and analyze whether they are paying off or being wasted.
Not having a plan can cause you to feel overwhelmed and spend more time worrying about social media than actually doing something with it!
Knowing what to post, on which platform, and on which days takes a massive weight off of your shoulders, while also being great to engage with your audience and generate more results.
Use automation tools.
I personally use Hootsuite to schedule all of my Instagram and LinkedIn posts.
This takes the weight off of my shoulders because it allows me to plan ahead and have posts ready without me having to worry about them going out at the right time. I schedule, and they go live.
Yes, social media moves very fast, and it can be confusing and overwhelming because you want to do everything right on the first go. But you don’t need to be using every single platform and posting every single day!
You need to learn what platforms your dream client prefers, and make sure those work with your business and focus on those ones, be THE BEST in those ones.
