Growing followers in social media

Social media is an excellent way to reach out to your target audience and connect with them more personally. However, posting content and having an account is nowhere near enough. You need to have an active following, be consistent with your posting and therefore make the most of social media. I would like to give you some tips as to how I manage my social media and what I do to reach new clients.

1. Define your target audience

The first step to gaining new followers on social media is to define your target audience. Know who your dream client is, what they like, their interests, and where they spend their time online.

2. Consistency is key

Make sure to post regularly and at the correct times for your audience. Make sure that your content is relevant as well as high quality. This will keep your current followers engaged and attract new ones.

3. Use hashtags

Hashtags let users find your content easily. When using hashtags, make sure to use relevant and popular ones to ensure that your target audience sees your content. Remember, keep it to 3 hashtags, a maximum of 5 and keep the reach of the hashtags between 10,000 posts to 1 million posts.

4. Engage with your audience

Respond to comments and messages, ask for feedback, comment on other people’s posts, reply to stories, etc. Ask them questions in stories, and have them vote on polls on both Instagram and LinkedIn. There are multiple ways to keep your audience engaged

5. Use videos

Video content is becoming increasingly popular on social media with the rise of features such as Instagram Reels and TikTok. Videos are a great way to increase engagement and attract new followers. Make videos talking about your services, or make funny videos that are relatable, behind-the-scenes videos, and short-form videos. They all can be appealing to your dream client.

In conclusion, gaining new followers on social media as a business requires effort and strategy. You can’t grow a large following or reach your dream client with just one week of posting one day a week. Be consistent, be thorough and enjoy the ride.
